ESSENCE OF A WOMAN

Women are amazingly super beings; they
are powerful, passionate and extremely
magnetic. Born to lead, rule and
orchestrate. They are also resourceful,
active, dynamic and prepared to go any
length to fight for a cause close to their heart.

A woman’s true essence is not measured
by what she looks like; she does not think
less of herself because she is a total
package. She glories in the completeness
of her feminine nature…whether tall or
short, fair or dark, slim or fat; she
appreciates her femininity
and blossoms in it.

What is then the Essesnce of a Woman?
What are those intrinsic and indispensable
properties that characterize or help
identify a true woman?
Today, we would be looking at one vital
component of a true woman…..STRENGTH

When it is said a woman is strong, what
readily comes to mind is a woman who
never shows weakness, a woman who do
not need anyone, a woman who is
independent and can live her life without
others. That is a stereotyped definition of
who a strong woman is and needs to be
erased completely.

The word STRONG means a woman who
can stand firm in trying times, a woman
who can persevere when the wind of life
comes blowing. She prays for more
strength and most especially seek help
from others in time of need.

She has a strong strength of who is. There
is nothing more rare, more beautiful,
more endearing than a woman who is
unapologetically herself. She is
comfortable on her perfect imperfection.

She is capable of doing lot of things but
not foolish to do more than she is able to
do. A strong woman stands up for what is
right even if it means standing all alone,
she is not afraid to take all the stones
being hurled at her and stand for
integrity.

Contrary to what many think, been
STRONG does not mean a woman do not
have fears, never cries, afraid to make
mistakes or have terrible days. Those
mistakes make her stronger as she leans
on her experience to make her a better person.

STRONG does not mean she has
to please everyone and makes them
happy. She know when to be assertive,
she knows when to use the word NO. She
does not have to compromise her
standards to make anyone happy. She can
say “NO” I won’t let you abuse my
privacy or “NO” I can’t take in that extra
baggage. She knows when to draw the line.

STRONG does not mean she cannot show
tenderness or Vulnerability. She cries
when she is hurt, love despite being
broken, glory in the warmth and
protection of his man. A strong woman
laughs, plays and surrender to many
emotions that beguile her. She also
knows when to reach into her emotional
tank for refill and knows all things work
for good.

Woman of the week

One woman who has defined STRONG
and has made our pick of the week as our
Star Woman is no other person than the
Enigmatic Songstress Atiuaje Iruobe
popularly known as W.A.J.E which is an
acronym for ‘Words Aren’t Just Enough’.

The first child and first daughter in the
family, Waje was born with a “plastic
spoon”. Her parents got divorced when
she was young and she became a young
mother at the age of 18.

Despite the challenges, the psychological
effect of a broken home, the burden of
being a single parent, Our Woman of The
Week WAJE has proved with time that
challenges can be a stepping stone or a
sinking sand depending on what we make
of it.

Waje who came into limelight after being
featured in a hit single by P.Square titled
“Do me” has made a name and success
for herself by putting her many obstacles
behind her and chasing that which is dear
to her heart – MUSIC

Through music, she has been able to tell
part of her stories, her struggles, her
experiences…She has also revealed her
emotional and vulnerable side and
reached out to women who has gone
through difficult situations through her hit track BE INSPIRED

She has been hurt, heartbroken and
scorned…but she has proved what
strength lies within her. She has built a
huge edifice with the brick and stones
hurled at her which has made her a
better mother to her child, role model to
younger women and an inspirational story
to the world.
